HENRY FORD HEALTH SYSTEM

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship position within the Biomechanics Section of the Bone and Joint Center Research Laboratories at Henry Ford Health System (Detroit, MI). The primary research focus will be assessment of vertebral bone quality using new methods based on digital tomosynthesis imaging in a clinical study sponsored by the Department of Defense. The fellow is expected to engage in other projects ongoing within the section.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative group with expertise in and facilities for biomechanics, musculoskeletal modeling, computational mechanics, 3D imaging, motion analysis, animal models, cell biology, histology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Scientists in the Bone & Joint Center have a strong history of collaboration with the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology, Public Health Science, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology at Henry Ford Health System. The Henry Ford Bone & Joint Center occupies approximately 15,000 sq ft in Wayne State University’s state-of-the-art Integrative Biosciences Center, which affords additional opportunity for collaboration with the Wayne State University community.
