Welcome, Dr. Baghel!

The Bone & Joint Center extends a warm welcome to Dr. Madhu Baghel as a new Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. Madhu’s academic training includes a BSc (2013) and MSc (2015) in Biochemistry from the University of Delhi, India. Her PhD is from the National Institute of Immunology, India (2021) with research focusing on understanding the role of the microenvironment in osteogenesis. Notably, she completed a research exchange (2018) at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom as part of the competitive Newton Bhabha Fund PhD Placements Programme.

Madhu’s research interests are both clinical and basic, focusing on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal diseases such as osteoarthritis using multi-omics approaches. She joins the musculoskeletal genomics laboratory of Dr. S. Amanda Ali to identify and characterize the role of molecular markers in disease progression from early- to late-stage osteoarthritis.
